HSE is working alongside local authorities across the country to check businesses have COVID-secure measures in place to manage the risk from COVID-19.
The number of COVID-19 cases in the Yorkshire and Humber region remain above average compared to the rest of the country.
As we come out of lockdown and businesses are re-opening, HSE is encouraging businesses and workers to do everything they can to stop the spread of COVID-19 both in and out of the workplace.
They are highlighting to both employers and workers the continued risk of transmission and to encourage them to take an active role in stopping the spread of the virus.
Employers must have COVID-secure measures in place to manage the risk of COVID-19 to protect workers, visitors and others. They should also encourage workers to follow government guidelines whilst outside of work, particularly on breaks and commuting to and from work.
To check businesses have COVID-secure measures in place HSE is carrying out spot checks and inspections on businesses in the Yorkshire and Humber.
Together we can have an impact taking every possible measure to stop the spread of COVID-19 both in and out of work.
