Brian Jackson College are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join our team, working at our Heckmondwike provision.
This is a great opportunity for an aspiring/experienced English Teacher who wants to develop creative learning opportunities for children with varied and complex needs. The successful candidate will be required to deliver functional skills and GCSE in line with national curriculum guidelines.
Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure, working with small groups of pupils and on occasion 1:1, in a school where we maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where pupils are listened to, respected, and involved in as many decisions as possible surrounding their learning.
The successful candidate will plan classes in line with the curriculum as relevant to the age and ability of pupils they teach, whilst preparing and developing teaching materials, teaching programs and pastoral arrangements as appropriate. You will provide an inspiring and motivating classroom environment to enable pupils to fulfil their potential. The successful candidate will be able to provide different techniques to engage pupils in active, hands on, creative problem based learning, providing tailored support based on each pupils individual needs, capabilities and learning preferences and at times a blended learning approach for pupils who do not attend the school full time.
As English Teacher you will be responsible for the observation, assessment, monitoring and recording strategies for all pupils and provide pupils with feedback to enable ongoing learning and development.
The successful candidate will have a relevant teaching qualification and will have previous experience in teaching, ideally within a challenging environment.
Brian Jackson College are owned and managed by the Yorkshire Children’s Centre which is a medium sized Charity in Kirklees.
