Supporting the COVID-19 vaccine uptake during Ramadan- pop up clinic 23rd April

GPs in Huddersfield are holding an evening pop-up vaccination clinic this week for those eligible for the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

When: Friday 23 April, 2021

Where: Masjid Riza, 129 Halifax Old Road, Birkby, Huddersfield, HD2 2RP

Time: 7.30 – 10pm

The clinic is for:

  • People aged over 45
  • People aged over 30 who have a health condition that puts them at higher risk from Covid-19. You can check which conditions these include on the NHS website

Booking is not required; people can just drop in at any time during the evening.

On attending the clinic people will need to provide:

  • Name
  • Date of birth
  • Postcode
  • Name of GP practice
  • NHS number (if known)

The British Islamic Medical Association, an affiliate of the Muslim Council of Britain, has issued specific advice, recommending the vaccine and insisting it is okay to have during Ramadan as it is not nutritional, nor does it contain any animal or foetal products.
