Funded Wellbeing Experiences: Help Your Staff & Volunteers Reconnect & Recover After Lockdown

Give Your Team a Treat, a Thank You or some Fun & Free Team-Building!

TSL Kirklees is co-ordinating a menu of half and full-day fully-funded wellbeing experiences to help frontline workers and volunteers relax and reconnect after lockdown.  This includes health and social care workers, council staff and local charity, voluntary and community group and their volunteers who’ve been involved in keeping things going and supporting people in Kirklees during Covid.

You may have staff members or volunteers who are nervous about returning to real life activities, people who’ve been furloughed or unable to volunteer, or even, who haven’t actually met in the real world!  You might want to thank your team for going the extra mile during the pandemic, or give them some time to bond, reconnect, build their confidence and de-stress.  The offer is open to anyone who needs it, from committees and partnerships that came together for a particular Covid-related reason, to boards and trustees who’ve had to work really hard to keep things going in difficult times.

There are lots of different activities to choose from, from therapy with horses, to mindfulness and yoga, crafts, cooking, woodworking and bushcraft. If you’d like to book for your team, please email us with your choice of activity, preferred dates and number of participants.

See ‘Choose An Experience’ below to find out more about the options that are available, or visit our Wellbeing Experiences webpage to see the full current list.

Alternatively, individual members of your team can book onto any of the dates listed for each activity, or for another existing activity that the organisation provides, and be part of a group with other people. Each experience is being provided by a local charity and community groups in Kirklees, and will also give you an introduction to the organisation and taster of the sort of things they do.  (You might even be interested in continuing to support them or partner with them them in the future.)

Please bear in mind that these are small organisations that don’t necessarily work full-time or have a big team, and that some are run entirely by volunteers, and so they may not be able to get back to you straight away, or offer lots of availability. (Employers and Volunteer Managers – it would be great if you can be flexible with dates too and support people who need time off to attend a session.)

Choose an Experience

Most of the Wellbeing Experiences will be outside in the fresh air, over the summer, allowing people to try out a new activity or learn a new skill, whilst taking time for themselves, reconnecting with others AND finding out about and supporting a local third sector organisation.  You will be able to book a half day or full day session.  If you are contacting the organisation direct, please say that it’s about a Wellbeing Experience in partnership with TSL Kirklees.

The experiences on offer are:

More Health and Wellbeing Support

This project is part of a larger Staff Emotional Health and Wellbeing Offer Across Kirklees Place initiative to help create a ‘wellness culture’ across Kirklees and support staff who have faced heightened levels of stress and exposure to potentially traumatic experiences during the pandemic with ongoing emotional health and wellbeing support and recovery.  With funding from West Yorkshire and Harrogate Health Care Partnership, partners including Locala, TSL Kirklees and Kirklees Council have come to get to create and promote a number of different types of support, including:
